Sana Commerce 8 ships a comprehensive new search engine, including the possiblity to filter search results using the products available properties. This feature is also refered to as faceted search. 'Sana Search' combines the item's business data from Dynamics with the product enrichment for online publications as managed by Sana. This way, Sana delivers faceted or parametric search for Microsoft Dynamics NAV and AX.

 

A good search boosts your conversion and is an essential part of your store, since most people use keywords to find what they want to buy. By providing faceted search, shop visitors can simply drill down the search results on properties which are relevant from a personal point of view, and never get lost. 'Facets' like e.g. color or price range are displayed in groups, so the user can simply focus on 'red (5)' or '€ 25 - € 50 (3)'. The number between brackets indicate the amount of results when the filter on that facet is used. As a store manager, Sana provides full control over which facets you want to use, the order in which you would like to provide them and the way you would like to break down the facets.

All product information needed for faceted search is indexed for optimal use in web stores, online retail store fronts (B2C) and online Sales Portals (B2B). The customers are provided with a navigation structure which is based on their search query, a navigation structure using taxonomies which are formed by the facets or parameters of the products within the search results.

 

The Sana back-office allows full control over the which facets or parameters you want to show in the search result, the order in which you want to show them and if you would like to allow a multiple selection of facets. More over, per list page you could define if you would like to use all available facets, or only the facets which are relevant for that view. Faceted search is also enabled on pages which are based on custom defined product sets.

 

This way, the item's parameters are the starting point to drill down to the ultimate search result. In a user friendly and simple way, the shop merchant can choose on which of the item's parameters one should be able to filter.
